Cyrus K. Nutritionist, Personal Training
Cyrus was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in my senior of college, and spent the next decade of my life understanding the physiology of diabetes, nutrition and exercise as a research scientist. He earned a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from UC Berkeley in 2012, and subsequently started Mangoman Nutrition and Fitness to teach diabetics the fundamentals of lifestyle management through informed nutrition and exercise. By providing nutrition and exercise coaching, he have been able to positively influence the lives of both type 1 and type 2 diabetics, and enable them to resume their life free of the stress that having an uncontrollable and life-threatening chronic disease can create.
Cyrus teaches individuals how to identify lifestyle habits that are sabotaging their quest for exceptional health, and teaches people with diabetes to stop fighting diabetes and start fixing insulin resistance. His clients follow either a 3-month or 6-month curriculum that focuses on plant-based whole foods nutrition and strategic fitness training to reverse the underlying condition of insulin resistance, after which the symptoms of diabetes tend to disappear. His programs are modeled after a highly effective evidence-based approach from human clinical trials that focuses on successful lifestyle change through accountability and self-experimentation.
Cyrus is also an avid soccer player, strength trainer and boot camp instructor. He is addicted to mangoes and eats like a monkey.
