Caity Johnson is a Licensed and Certified Massage Therapist from New York, and has been practicing body work in the Bay Area since 2014. She also holds an MFA in Dance from Smith College. Her love of deep body work stems from a fascination with movement and body mechanics, and has been enhanced by further study of human potential at the Esalen Institute, the Flow Genome Project, and with Revolution in Motion training.
Her approach to myotherapy integrates deep-tissue structural bodywork with the flowing, profoundly relaxing techniques of Esalen® Massage. The integration of these healing modalities, along with traditional Swedish massage and Trigger Point Therapy, allows her to access the body's deeper soft tissue layers, unbinding habitually compressed areas of tension, and returning fluid exchange and energy flow. Chronic tension patterns in the body release by softening and re-organizing, replenishing living tissues with blood, lymph and energy.
With full-hearted presence and attention, she aims to bring her clients to a state of deep nervous-system relaxation, which supports the natural ability of body and mind to self-heal.
